freshly bound

celebrating the process.

a few weeks ago, I had just gotten out of the hospital.

stuck at home in a wheelchair, there isn’t much one can do but think. at 3 AM I found myself on the porcelain throne asking myself many things, one of which was, “who deserves to be interviewed?” I thought back on the many interviews I’ve watched. it seems that it’s only until someone has achieved a certain number of accolades that they suddenly deserve to be asked about their story.

I thought about how fortunate I am to know an ass load of incredible people who haven’t technically, “made it”, but they’re paying their dues, and have amazing stories and insight to share.

the “fresh” in freshly represents the fact that I believe these people are “fresh”, another term for “cool. it also touches on the idea that these individuals’ lives aren’t static, they’re currently trying to navigate this complicated world.

the term “bound” is a reference to being bound on a journey, and also the binding of a book, a metaphor for each person’s unique story.

my hope is that through my creative process it’ll catalyze some internal progress in the mental process of those in the process of life progress. say that 11 times fast.

thanks for checking out the series, much luv.
